The Power of Pausing
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you wished you'd taken just a moment longer before responding? Or perhaps you've made a hasty decision that you later regretted? It has taken me years to embrace the power of pausing and I highly recommend it!
In our fast-paced world, we're often pressured to react instantly. But there's incredible power in taking a breath and giving yourself space to pause & process. It's like giving your mind, heart, and gut a chance to have a quick meeting before you leap into action.
When someone asks you to do something – take a breath and pause. Give yourself a minute and allow your body time to take the request from your ears and let it travel through your mind, then down through your heart and finally to your gut. Listen to the messages you receive from each place, then let the request travel back to your throat where you can voice a response.
No one needs an instant response. My favourite strategy is if it is not a 'HELL YES', then I sleep on it. You are allowed space to consider and ponder!
