New Year Energy: Beyond Resolutions
The start of a new year carries huge energetic potential. It's the perfect time of year to choose and align your energy rather than weigh yourself down with resolutions that feel like energetic burdens.
I've never been a huge fan of New Year's resolutions. They often come from a place of "not enough" - not thin enough, not successful enough, not organized enough. Instead, I prefer to think about energy allocation. Where do I want my life force to flow this year?
Think of your energy like a garden. January is the perfect time to decide what you want to grow. Which areas of your life need more nurturing? Which relationships deserve more of your energy? What projects light you up? More importantly, what energy drains can you eliminate?
Essential questions for your energy garden:
- What depleted you last year that you can release?
- Where did you feel most energized?
- Who fills your energy tank?
- What dreams make your soul spark?
This isn't about making rigid plans or setting unrealistic goals. It's about becoming intentional with your energy. I love to create what I call 'energy anchors' for the year - regular practices that keep me energetically aligned:
Monthly:
- Creative hobbies
- Connection dates with my soul friends
- Adventures that stretch my comfort zone
Weekly:
- Movement that lights me up
- Time in nature to recharge
- Energy audits to check where my power is flowing
- My Monday Morning Meeting with Myself (Podcast)
Daily:
- Sacred space for spiritual connection
- Stretching muscles and ligaments
You don't need to overhaul your entire life this January. Small energy shifts can create massive transformations. Start by making one energetic commitment to yourself - something that truly fills your tank.
Let this year be about energy alignment rather than achievement.
Let it be about flowing rather than forcing.
Let it be about what lights you up rather than what you think you should do.
Your energy is your most precious resource. Invest it wisely this year.
