Feeling Drained?

Since writing my Energy book, I have noticed something. Everyone is putting so much of their effort into their physical energy and yet they are still feeling exhausted and drained.

The biggest challenge for most people is not physical energy alone; it's about the emotional, mental, and spiritual energy that keeps us thriving, creating, and living our best lives.

Many believe that energy management is solely about balancing your physical activities and rest. While that's part of the puzzle, there's a lot more to consider. If you’re only focusing on how many hours you sleep or how much you exercise, you're missing a crucial piece. Our energy flows through a delicate system that can be easily disrupted by negative influences, unaddressed emotions, and even the clutter in our minds.

"Negativity Is an Energy Vampire"

Think about how you feel after spending time with someone who constantly complains or after engaging in a task that you find meaningless. Negativity acts like an energy vampire, sucking the life out of you and leaving you depleted.

Being reactive, for example, wastes an incredible amount of energy. When you constantly respond to external triggers rather than proactively managing your responses, you’re giving away your power and your energy. Similarly, unnecessary mental clutter - those unresolved thoughts and worries - can bog you down and create blockages in your energetic plumbing.

Your Energy Is a Holistic System  - I am hoping that my book shifts how people think about their energy. Instead of seeing it as something you only need to manage physically, start viewing it as a holistic system that requires balance in all areas of your life: emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual. Like a valuable resource, your energy needs to be protected. Avoid engaging with people or situations that drain you. It’s okay to set boundaries and say no. Holding space for yourself and protecting your energy is crucial.

Take a moment to identify what’s draining and depleting you. Who is contributing and contaminating your world? For most of us, a name instantly comes to mind when asked who is giving us grief in our lives. But very rarely do we have a strategy for handling them!

Understanding that our energy is a holistic system means recognizing the profound truth that our emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual states are deeply interconnected. Managing your energy isn't just about what you do physically. It’s about recognizing and addressing the negative influences and unnecessary clutter that drain your energy. By doing so, you’ll feel more vibrant, focused, and ready to tackle whatever life throws your way.

Stay fabulous and energized!
