Back to Work Energy: Maintaining Your Holiday Vibe

This week has been my first week back in the office and it has been a lot!

The transition back to work after the holiday break can feel like energetic whiplash!

One minute you're floating around in summer bliss, the next you're staring at an overflowing inbox. I'm trying really hard to keep some of my holiday vibe going while working.

I've noticed that many of us approach the return to work like we're bracing for impact. We tense up, contract our energy, and prepare for battle. But what if we could bring that expansive holiday energy into our workday? That sense of spaciousness, that feeling of having time to breathe?

The secret is creating energetic anchors that remind your system of that holiday state. For me, it's keeping my beach shells on my desk, taking my morning coffee outside, and maintaining those long deep breaths I naturally do when I'm relaxed.

Powerful ways to maintain your holiday vibe:

  • Start your workday 30 minutes earlier to avoid rushing

  • Take real breaks (not just desk-lunch-scrolling-breaks)

  • Build in micro-moments of peace between tasks

  • Maintain one holiday habit that served you well

The biggest energy drain when returning to work isn't actually the work - it's the resistance to being back. When we fight against where we are, we create an energy leak. Acceptance doesn't mean you can't still dream about your next holiday; it just means you're not wasting energy wishing you were somewhere else.

This transition time is perfect for redesigning your work energy:

  • What parts of your job light you up?

  • How can you bring more of that holiday spaciousness into your day?

  • Where can you create better boundaries?

  • What energy drains can you eliminate?

Being in charge of your energy at work is so, so important . Most of us need to work so we might as well feel good about our jobs!

You get to decide how to show up, how to protect your energy, and how to maintain your vibrant holiday spirit even as you dive back into your responsibilities.

Own your work energy!!
