Being “with” Myself
I spend a lot of time on my own.
While I am a raving extrovert, I am very happy with my own company.
I get on well with me! We have lots in common. We like the same food and activities and all in all I find myself great company!
I think there is a massive difference in being 'by' yourself compared to ‘with’ myself!
With myself I am with me. Deliberately with me. Intentionally enjoying my own company.
Having an intentional relationship with yourself is something I highly recommend. It starts with consideration and understanding.
Considering your needs and wants and understanding yourself.
When I am with myself, I take myself places I love, I take myself to movies and out for meals. I treat myself like a treasured friend!
It’s hard to honour someone who you don’t know much about! I met loads of people who don’t know themselves very well. They haven’t taken the time to get to know themselves. It’s not surprising when many of us were raised to consider any type of self enquiry to be indulgent.
What do you do when you are alone?
What do you like?
What do you value?
What fear is holding you back?
If you had a wand what would you change about yourself?
What’s a skill or habit you would love to have?
Who brings out the best in you?
What's the most courageous thing you could do right now?
If you really loved yourself what would you do, be or have?
You are worth thinking about! Take yourself on a date- it could be a drive, a movie or a meal!
Notice yourself, ask yourself questions!
Be kind!
